Tokyo, Japan, November 19, 2020 – Enfinity Global announced the successful commercial operation (COD) of two solar power plants on November 2, 2020. These facilities include a 42 MW plant and a 20 MW plant, which provide reliable and clean energy. Enfinity Global developed these ground-mounted plants under Japan’s Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) scheme. The projects are part of a larger portfolio of nine developments, totaling 280 MW, created by Enfinity Global, an affiliate of EverStream Capital Management.
Japan’s Renewable Energy Commitment
In October 2020, Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced plans to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This ambitious goal received support from Hiroshi Kajiyama, Japan’s economy minister, who emphasized that renewable energy would become a “major power source” by 2030. The country aims to increase the share of electricity from renewables to 22%–24% by fiscal 2030, up from 17% in 2018. Solar and wind energy are expected to drive most of this growth.

- Energy Production: They produce over 70,000 MWh annually, enough to power 17,000 homes.
- Carbon Reduction: They prevent the emission of 6,800 tons of CO2 annually.
- Economic Benefits: Enfinity Global invested over $200 million, which contributed to the local economy. At peak construction, the projects created approximately 240 jobs.
